Longboard Skateboard

A longboard skateboard is a larger version of a regular skateboard. They not only have a larger deck but also have wider trucks and bigger wheels. The wider trucks are tuned to be more responsive to turning and are incredibly smooth which provides surf like feeling. They are much faster than regular boards so are typically used to get around town and for riding down hills for fun.

A longboard skateboard can come in many different shapes and sizes although the most common is the teardrop shape of a surfboard. This shape provides a wide surface area to stand on allowing the board to be controlled in any number of different ways. Some people ride on the front of the board while others center their weight over the back wheels and ride more like a surfer.

A longboard skateboard can be found wherever skateboards, snowboards and surfboards are sold. They are excellent cross-training tools for snowboarding and surfing and can be done on any dry road any time of day. Night rides are popular in many areas because there is less traffic which allows the boarders to take up the entire road without worrying about getting hit.
