Skateboard Clothing
Skateboard clothing originally was worn because it allowed for freedom of movement. The shoes were really the first piece of clothing specifically designed for skateboarding and they included thick soles and protective yet comfortable uppers. Just putting on skate shoes made all their clothing skateboard style.
Skateboard clothing is closely related to hip hop fashions and styles, at least the baggier versions. It is also closely related to punk rock, a seemingly unrelated genre musically. It is difficult to pinpoint what defines this style of clothing, but hoodies, ball caps, baggie pants are not uncommon. Other than that anything really goes and styles will be ever changing and evolving. The skate shoes are typically high quatlity, as they are important, and can prevent heel bruises and make for better performance.
Skateboard clothing can be found almost anywhere clothing is sold. It has become so popular that almost every company making clothes has something that would appeal to a skateboarder. Graffiti style t-shirts and sweat shirts are always popular as well as shirts that are satirical or anti-establishment. Remember it’s the tricks, not the clothes that get the girls.
