Skateboard Ramp
A skateboard ramp can be anywhere from under a foot high to over 30 feet high and can consist of simply a ramp, a quarter pipe, and many other features and variations. The large ones are typically made of wood and are completely custom jobs costing thousands of dollars. Small ones can be purchased online or easily built.
A skateboard ramp is used by a skateboarder to launch them into the air so they can perform any number of tricks. The larger the ramp the larger the air but for really big airs a landing area will be needed to lessen the blow. Quarter pipes are another type of ramp that allows the rider to go up and down in basically the same location.
It is a little tricky trying to jump off or ride into a skateboard ramp. Balance and timing are incredibly important as well as being very comfortable on the board. It is important to wear safety gear when learning how to ride on ramps and at skateboard parks.
